General terms and conditions

Chapter 1 – Definitions

In these General Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  1. Entrepreneur: the legal entity or natural person holding the copyright and intellectual property rights, who manages the website and offers products: Map out, Citizenshit.
  2. Website: the online environment where information is provided, data is collected, and products are sold.
  3. User: any natural person or legal entity visiting the Website.
  4. Customer: any User who purchases a product via the Website.
  5. Agreement: any agreement concluded between the Entrepreneur and the Customer via the Website.
  6. Product: any item offered and sold via the Website.

Chapter 2 – Applicability

  1. These General Terms and Conditions apply to all use of the Website and to every Agreement.
  2. By visiting or using the Website, the User accepts these terms.
  3. Deviations from these terms are only valid if agreed upon in writing.

Chapter 3 – Use of the Website

  1. The information on the Website is intended solely for general informational purposes.
  2. The Entrepreneur strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information but does not guarantee its completeness or accuracy.
  3. It is not permitted to use the Website for:
    • Unlawful activities;
    • Distributing viruses or harmful software;
    • Infringing intellectual property rights.
  4. All intellectual property rights relating to the Website, social media, and all services and products offered are vested in the Entrepreneur, unless stated otherwise.

Chapter 4 – Submission and Processing of Data

  1. When the User fills in forms on the Website, the User must provide accurate and complete information.
  2. The Entrepreneur processes personal data in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
  3. The provided data will be used exclusively for:
    • Performing the Agreement;
    • Customer communication;
    • Legal obligations;
    • Marketing purposes if consent has been granted.
  4. The User is responsible for the accuracy of the provided data.

Chapter 5 – Formation of the Agreement

  1. An Agreement is concluded at the moment the Customer places an order and the Entrepreneur confirms it.
  2. The Entrepreneur reserves the right to refuse an order without stating reasons.
  3. Obvious errors or mistakes in the offer are not binding on the Entrepreneur.

Chapter 6 – Prices and Payment

  1. All stated prices include VAT, unless otherwise indicated.
  2. Any shipping costs will be clearly stated before completing the order.
  3. Payment must be made via the offered payment methods.
  4. The Entrepreneur remains the owner of the Product until full payment has been received.

Chapter 7 – Delivery

  1. The Entrepreneur will ship the Product with due care to the address provided by the Customer.
  2. Delivery times are indicative and do not entitle the Customer to compensation in the event of delay.
  3. The risk of damage or loss transfers to the Customer at the time of delivery.

Chapter 8 – Right of Withdrawal

  1. The Customer has the right to terminate the Agreement within 14 days after receipt without stating reasons, unless statutory exceptions apply.
  2. During the reflection period, the Customer must handle the Product with care.
  3. Returns must be made in accordance with the Entrepreneur’s return instructions.
  4. Return of the money will be for the product itself. The Entrepreneur will hold the cost for shipping back the Product.

Chapter 9 – Sustainably Produced Product

  1. The Entrepreneur strives to produce and deliver the offered Product as sustainably as possible.
  2. Sustainable production includes:
    • The use of environmentally friendly or recycled materials where possible;
    • Minimization of waste streams during production;
    • Reduction of energy consumption and CO₂ emissions;
    • Cooperation with suppliers that comply with relevant environmental and labor standards.
  3. Any sustainability claims are based on the information available at that time from suppliers and producers.
  4. The Entrepreneur strives for continuous improvement in sustainability but cannot guarantee that the Product is fully climate-neutral or emission-free.
  5. Packaging materials are minimized and selected to be recyclable wherever possible.

Chapter 10 – Liability

  1. The liability of the Entrepreneur is limited to the amount paid for the relevant Product.
  2. The Entrepreneur is not liable for indirect damages, including consequential damages, loss of profit, or missed savings.
  3. This limitation does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence.

Chapter 11 – Complaints

  1. Complaints regarding the performance of the Agreement must be reported within a reasonable period of time.
  2. The Entrepreneur will respond to complaints within 14 days.
  3. If a complaint is found to be justified, the Entrepreneur will provide an appropriate solution.

Chapter 12 – Applicable Law and Disputes

  1. These General Terms and Conditions and all Agreements are governed by Dutch law.
  2. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the district where the Entrepreneur is established, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

Chapter 13 – Intellectual Property and Copyright

  1. All intellectual property rights relating to the Website, including but not limited to texts, images, logos, branding, designs, photographs, videos, databases, software, and other materials, are exclusively vested in the Entrepreneur or its licensors.
  2. Intellectual property rights include, but are not limited to, copyrights, trademark rights, trade name rights, database rights, design rights, and any other existing or potential intellectual property rights.
  3. The User and/or Customer is not permitted, without prior written consent of the Entrepreneur, to:
    • Copy, reproduce, publish, or distribute (parts of) the Website or its content;
    • Modify, adapt, or commercially exploit materials;
    • Remove or alter indications of copyrights, trademarks, or other rights.
  4. Use of the Website and purchase of a Product does not constitute a transfer of intellectual property rights.
  5. If the Customer posts content (such as reviews, images, or other contributions) via social media, the Customer grants the Entrepreneur a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, publish, and reproduce such content for commercial and promotional purposes, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
  6. The Customer guarantees that any content provided does not infringe third-party rights and indemnifies the Entrepreneur against any claims from third parties in this regard.
